Gary W. Young CEO, Chairman

Gary Young founded Young Contracting in 1991 in Atlanta, GA. As CEO, Gary provides overall direction and leadership for the company. Under his guidance, the company has grown into a premier construction company known for exceeding expectations while safely delivering quality buildings on time and within budget across the Southeast. His hands-on approach keeps him connected to current projects as well as internal operations, while his passion and entrepreneurial spirit leads the team in business development. Through his leadership and dedication to excellence, Young Contracting has built lasting relationships, successfully completed over 1,000 projects, and has been recognized with numerous accolades.

Throughout his career, Gary has remained active in the Associated General Contractors. Gary is a past-President of AGC Georgia, SIR Award recipient, and a Life Governor of the organization. Outside of the office, Gary enjoys spending time with his family and friends and is an avid outdoorsman.

Randy Thomas - President

Randy Thomas President

In his role as the President at Young Contracting, Randy takes charge of the day-to-day operations, maintaining active involvement with the entire project management team and their projects. Tasked with executing the firm's business and strategic plans, Randy oversees critical aspects throughout each department at Young Contracting.

Boasting four decades of industry experience, Randy’s leadership and extensive experience bring unparalleled construction insights to every project undertaken by Young Contracting, elevating the company's capabilities. Randy initially joined the firm in 1995 as a Project Manager and subsequently earned a promotion to Vice President. In 2008, his project leadership and contributions to the company led to his appointment to partner.

In his spare time, Randy enjoys spending time with his family and traveling internationally.

Matthew Lee - COO

Matthew Lee COO

Matthew serves as Young Contracting’s COO and manages the day-to-day operations of the company while driving the business and strategic plans. He is actively involved with our project managers and their projects. His enthusiasm for construction and unwavering commitment to building connections are what make him stand out as a leader.

During his time at Young Contracting, Matthew has gained expertise across a range of project types and has worked on several of our most recognizable projects. With a proven track record, he continues to drive innovation and excellence in construction practices. Over the past 20 years, Matthew has advanced through roles culminating in his promotion to COO in 2022. Through his hard work, dedication, and commitment to Young Contracting, he was named a partner in 2018.

Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, golfing, and cheering on Georgia Southern when he’s not at the office or on a job site. He is actively engaged in the Associated General ContractorsGeorgia chapter.

As the CFO at Young Contracting, Brent has a pivotal role in managing the company's financial operations and providing guidance to the entire accounting team. With an impressive three decades of accounting experience within the construction industry, Brent brings invaluable expertise to support the company's financial efficiency.

Joining the organization in 1999, he earned the title of partner in 2018 for his exemplary leadership and substantial contributions to Young Contracting’s success.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and passionately cheering on the Clemson Tigers.

Brad Smith - Vice President of Field Operations, Safety Director

Brad Smith Vice President of Field Operations, Safety Director

Brad serves as the Vice President of Field Operations at Young Contracting and is responsible for ensuring that all projects exceed client expectations, industry standards, and safety regulations. His routine site visits and oversight of Superintendents and field operations ensure that projects stay on track and maintain quality throughout the construction process. His additional role as the company's Director, overseeing our safety program and training, underscores the importance of safety in all aspects of the construction projects undertaken by Young Contracting.

With his extensive experience in all markets, Brad brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every job he oversees. Over the past 28 years, Brad has proven to be an invaluable team member and was named partner in 2018.

Outside of work, Brad enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and working on home projects. Brad is actively engaged in AGC Georgia and serves on the Safety Committee

Chris Crews - Vice President of Field Operations

Chris Crews Vice President of Field Operations

Chris serves as Vice President of Field Operations and is responsible for overseeing field operations at Young Contracting. Chris’extensive experience and strong dedication ensure projects are completed to the highest standards, on schedule, and with a focus on safety. He is committed to 100% client satisfaction.

With over 24 years of construction experience at Young Contracting, Chris has a deep understanding of construction processes, regulations, and best practices. In his role as Vice President of Field Operations, he conducts regular site visits to monitor safety, progress, and quality. Chris joined the company in 2000 as a superintendent and was named partner in 2018.

When he's not busy on a job site, you'll likely catch him belting out classic tunes at karaoke. Beyond the mic, he enjoys relaxing on the farm and avidly supporting his favorite sports teams.

Laura Young - Business Development

With eighteen years of experience in business development and marketing in the construction industry, Laura is responsible for cultivating business relationships across all markets at Young Contracting. Her authentic approach lays the groundwork for strong client connections. Drawing on an understanding of market dynamics and client needs, she plays a key role in driving Young Contracting’s opportunities and strategic growth.

Laura joined the company in 2006, and through her unwavering commitment and valuable contributions, she was named Partner 2018.

Beyond the office, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, golfing, and learning more about her newest hobby-beekeeping. Actively involved in professional organizations, Laura is a proud member of AGC, CREW, and ICSC.

Sandra Letizia – Human Resources

Sandra Letizia Human Resources

Sandra serves as the Human Resource/Payroll Administrator at Young Contracting. Her proactive approach, combined with 25 years of experience at the company, brings a tested perspective to our HR strategies. Sandra is a champion for team member engagement initiatives by regularly organizing internal employee events, including social outings, charitable run/walk events, and the annual holiday party.

Sandra, who joined the company in 1997, became a Partner in 2018 as a result of her steadfast dedication and significant contributions to team members of Young Contracting.

Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family & friends.

Chip Newman – Senior Superintendent

Chip Newman Senior Superintendent

With 30 years of dedicated service at Young Contracting, Chip stands as an unparalleled expert in construction. His consistent delivery of projects that exceed client expectations has made him indispensable to both the company and our clients, who rely on his extensive knowledge and insights. Known as a friend to everyone at the company, Chip also takes on the role of mentor, guiding young superintendents with his leadership and expertise. His commitment to safety excellence mixed with his leadership on every project make him a cornerstone of success for Young Contracting.

Chip, one of the first team members hired at Young Contracting, was named Partner in 2018.

When Chip is not on the job site, you can find him spending time with his family or traveling cross-country on his motorcycle.
